At Kawana Waters State College (KWSC), we boast a strong legacy of sporting engagement and achievement. Our alumni have attained national recognition across diverse sporting disciplines. Our sports program is structured into three main categories: in-school competitions, interschool competitions and extra-curricular events.
In-school competitions are held during regular school hours and each year encompass Swimming, Cross Country, and Athletics carnivals. Selection for District, Regional and State teams begin at our school carnivals, where a team of athletes is chosen to represent KWSC. These events serve as platforms for students to showcase their athletic abilities as well as promote school spirit and develop humility, resilience and sportsmanship.
KWSC has a commitment to fostering sporting talent and this is reflected in the vibrant and inclusive sports culture prevalent throughout the college.
KWSC has three sports houses. They are Coral, Pacific and Tasman. House colours and mascots are shown below:
KWSC is also involved in the Coastal District Interschool Sport Competition. This competition involves students in Years 7, 8 and 9. Students play at various venues across the district against local schools.
