At KWSC, we recognise and value the important role that parents, carers and the community play in supporting student's learning and wellbeing within our college. These relationships are built on respect and recognise the value of education to the children in our college.
Partnerships with parents and the community are encouraged through the work of KWSC's Parent Engagement Group. This group operates within Education Queensland's Parent and Community Framework and seeks to build relationships between the school, parents and the wider community to promote, strengthen and support student learning and wellbeing.
The Parent Engagement Group provides:
- a forum for parents to provide feedback on school initiatives
- a mechanism for the college to promote information seminars to parents on college initiatives that support families' understanding of curriculum and key initiatives of the college
- a point of connectivity to the community in the development of college events and fundraising initiatives
