Education Queensland International (EQI) develops and promotes programs for international students with a secure and welcoming place to live and practise their English language skills in a real home setting.  Most students attend high school but the length of their stay in Queensland will vary.

A homestay host must provide:

  • a  clean, safe and friendly home

  • private bedroom and suitable storage space for their clothes and personal belongings

  • 3 nutritious meals per day, assistance to access transport to and from school

More information may be found on the EQI website - (Become an EQI Homestay Host) or by contacting the International Liaison Officer at Kawana Waters State College.

All members of the host family over the age of 18 must have a blue card clearance which is organised through the school.  More information can be found on the Blue Card Services website.
