Kawana
Waters State College is leading the way in delivering a series of health
qualifications to students from a range of schools across the Sunshine Coast
Region. With the Sunshine Coast Health Precinct, the largest hospital
infrastructure project in the southern hemisphere, right here on our doorstep,
and the health sector currently number one for growth and demand for
employment, the KWSC Health Education Unit has been designed to provide
students with exposure to a range of health qualifications. These
qualifications will provide valuable experience, skills and an insight into
possible career pathways within the health industry.
Kawana Waters
State College has developed a state-of-the-art Health Education Unit with two
simulation wards, an observation centre and the necessary technology to support
teaching and learning within these health qualifications. This purpose built
learning environment allows students to engage in practical and theory
components of the courses in an innovative, simulated and engaging
environment. In order to maintain the authenticity and context of the
qualifications, the College has also employed trainers who are currently working
in the Health Industry. Our lead health teacher is a practising
registered nurse and teacher. In addition to this, we have recently employed
two trainers with backgrounds in midwifery and paramedic, to join the team in
2020.
As
a leading broker, Kawana Waters State College is proud to be an innovative
educational provider, training our young people to be outstanding and leading
the way within the health sector.
