MLTAQ Host Speech Competition At USC

Every year MLTAQ (Modern Languages Teaching Association of Queensland) Sunshine Coast branch host a very competitive and valuable speech competition for our talented language students across the coast involving both state and independent schools. On Sunday 27th August, nineteen of our Japanese students from across our campus gave up their time to compete at the University of Sunshine Coast. Congratulations to the following students:
Year 4: 2nd PLACE Olivia Ries, Kirra Burdett-Cluer, Melieta Timmer
Year 5: Georgie Wolfenden
Year 6: 2ND PLACE Chelsea Santoro, Sophia Mills
 Year 7: 2ND PLACE Joshua Burdett-Cluer, HIGHLY COMMENDED Pzarn Hardingham, Jaidon Thorp, Makayla Edwards
Year 8: 2nd PLACE – Maddison Harding, Sianan Lyall, Abbey Adams
Year 9: Morgan Bowen, Isabella Bilokin, Isabella Parkes
Year 10: Sophie Bowen, Callum Edwards and Jessie Fitzakerley
All students showed great commitment and courage to perform a speech in another language to native Japanese judges. They did an outstanding job representing our College and showcasing their amazing language ability with fluency and confidence.
