- Work Placement is a component of our Work Education course which is offered to Year 11 & 12 students. Work education is designed to provide students with appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes concerning paid and unpaid work.
- Work placement extends the theoretical learning of the classroom into practical applications of the workplace.
- It provides schools with the opportunity to forge stronger links between education and industry.
- The aim of Work Placement is to:
a) improve the students' maturity, confidence and self reliance.
b) give students insights into the nature of the diversity of employers in the workforce.
c) provide opportunities for students to become more informed about current labour market issues.
d) help students make informed career decisions by assessing their aptitudes and interests and exploring a potential career.
e) provide students with an opportunity to combine in-school studies with on-the-job experiences.
f) acquaint students with non-gender stereotyped occupations.
g) prepare students for the demands and expectations of the working world.
- Work Placement is organised by the Sunshine Coast Schools Industry Links Scheme in one week blocks each term.
