What is VET in schools?
- VET in schools provides students with an opportunity to learn skills and knowledge that employers want.
- Combinations of skills and knowledge are called COMPETENCIES.
- By doing VET at school, students can obtain industry endorsed competencies.
- These competencies are nationally recognized and can lead to a VET qualification as well assisting students to gain a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
Where can VET lead?
- Full-time or part-time work.
- Further training at TAFE of other private training providers.
- Study at University.
- Explore different ways of achieving educational training and employment goals.
How Can VET help?
- Give the opportunity to begin preparing for work.
- Become competent in work skills that may contribute or lead to future jobs or future training.
- Receive recognition for what is already learned and use it as a basis for future study.
- Try out occupational areas
