International Program
Our Senior Schooling (matriculation) International Student Program began in 1997, when 10 students enrolled in Year 11 from The Peoples Republic of China (PRC). Each year we have approximately 40 international students. We have had students from the PCR, Papua New Guinea, Bolivia, Japan and Germany to study for matriculation at Kawana Waters State College. These students are academically successful and go on to study at an Australian university.
Kawana Waters State College places great emphasis on caring for all students in the school. International students have a Home Group teacher, a Year Level Coordinator and Guidance Officer to look after their needs, as well as Specialist English (ESL) teachers.
Each year international students have been elected to leadership positions within the school and a number have been awarded the top academic student in the senior year.
